I've gone a little crazy buying books here lately...I figure I'll stock up with all these great Borders coupons I keep on receiving!
Any recommendations on what I should read next after I finish Dexter and the Sookie series? Stephen King's newest book just came out, so I guess I'm actually busy for awhile, but I'd still like some recommendations!

I love Greek Mythology, so I'm excited there's been a remake of the 1981 Clash of the Titans movie! I remember watching the original in English class in high school. Here's the trailer for the remake:

I was trying to hang a picture on the wall by the stairs leading to our basement. I stood on the ledge across from it, looked down at the stairs and my fear of heights kicked in-big time. I realized I needed to get down off there ASAP. My heart was racing and I started shaking. Ridiculous, I know! Wanna know what my stupendously stupid plan had been? I would just lean across from the ledge over to the wall over the stairs.
Well, I dropped to my knees and tried to carefully and slowly climb down off the ledge, but the end table and Pumpkin's scratching post were right there and somehow I flopped to the floor, landing right on my knees. O*U*C*H* Then I started laughing at how stupid the whole thing must have looked.

I'm borrowing this from Amy @ Just Add Walter. It was so much fun to read and get to know Amy better!
"About Us":
Kathie and Joshua edition
1. What are your middle names?
Diana and Michael....Kathie Michael sounds funny at first, but it grows on you.
ok, just kidding!
2. How long have you been together?
Forever. and a day.
Almost 5 years
3. How long did you know each other before you started dating?
A year, I think. We started working at the same company within 3 weeks of each other.
4. Who asked who out?
oh boy....that is still up for debate to this day. He claims that I asked him out! I say he tricked me into asking him and I wasn't asking him on a date, I was just asking him as a friend....I didn't know if we were on a date or not the whole time.
5. How old are each of you?
I'm 34 and he's 30 and hopefully it doesn't look obvious that I'm older! ;-)
6. Did you go to the same school?
No
7. Are you from the same home town?
Nope. We are both from Illinois and the towns aren't too terribly far from each other.
8. Who is the smartest?
Well, I'm a smart cookie if I do say so myself, but I'd say he's smarter. I've always liked smart men.
9. Who majored in what?
I got my B.S. in Elementary Education and he has his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
10. Who is the most sensitive?
Hands down, me. It drives me crazy sometimes that he's not, but I think it's best that we are opposites in that way.
11. Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Montana
12. Who has the worst temper?
Well, I have a pretty good temper, but I think his temper is worse
13. How many children do you want?
2 at the most and really I'd prefer to have twins :-) I'd be happy with 1, but Josh thinks children should have at least 1 sibling.
14. Who does the cooking?
Hmmm, that has changed over time. He started out cooking, then somewhere along the way, I decided that I needed to "diet," so I bought my Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice/Smart Ones meals and so we ate separately that way for some time. Since I've been laid off from work, I've been cooking and he does occassionally-usually on the grill.
15. Who is more social?
Neither one of us really, but he is more so than I am.
16. Who is the neat freak?
Neither really. But, I go through phases where I'm a perfectionist...then I realize it's really hard to keep things perfect all the time, so I give up for awhile. He's not a complete slob though.
17. Who is the most stubborn?
We both are stubborn, but I think he's a bit worse than I am.
18. Who wakes up earlier?
Even though he's working, I've got him beat. I can get up as early as 3:00 AM sometimes (Pumpkin wakes me up-ugh!)
19. Where was your first date?
We saw the movie Constantine and had dinner at Old Chicago.
20. Who has the bigger family?
I think it's pretty equal as far as immediate family goes. We each have 3 siblings.
21. Do you get flowers often?
Usually I get some for my birthday and Valentine's
22. How do you spend the holidays?
Christmas Eve with his family, Thanksgiving we spend apart with our own families and then whenever with my family for Christmas.
23. Who is more jealous?
probably me
24. How long did it take to get serious?
Not long really. You know how people say they "just knew" their spouse was "the one?" Well, I don't believe that there's only one person for each of us that we're meant to be with forever and ever and that person only, but I kinda had the feeling we'd get married.
25. Who eats more?
I'm ashamed to admit that for awhile, I could keep up with him! But, not anymore.
26. What do you do for a living?
I'm June Cleaver minus the pearls and kids. I stay home, I cook and clean, run errands, etc. I'd work part-time if I could find something flexible or something where I could work at home.
27. Who does the laundry?
I do. I take care of most of the chores since I stay at home. I think that's only fair.
28. Who's better with the computer?
I'd say that we both just know different things.
29. Who drives when you are together?
He does. I can say I wouldn't mind having a driver! ;-)
30. What is your song?
We don't have a song, but when I'm asked that, I think of "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas because we used to enjoy listening to it together (and sometimes singing along to it) in the car on the way to wherever we were going and thinking of it makes me laugh.
So, please head on over and see how you can help!

Finally, I really like this song, so I thought I'd share!

On a serious note, please read this to see how you can help Yaya out. Yaya is an awesome blogger that I have followed for awhile now and I'm sure most of you reading this already know her by name. I can relate to her struggles with trying to have a child and start a family. (I'm infertile according to the doctors and it's not something I like to talk about on my blog and I don't mention this for sympathy, pity or anything like that, just a fact.) So, please head on over and see how you can help!

I LOVE this entry. There is so much fun stuff to look through. I love the stuff on you and hubs, though. It's good getting to know you both better. Scott and I met and knew too. He moved in two weeks after we met. We'll be engaged for 5 years this Christmas. :)
PS: I just listened to "my humps" 3 times in a row... haha!!
yay for playing the little "about us" carnival! It was great learning more about you guys!!
and I think its hysterical you think of "my humps"... that song cracks me up everytime I hear it!!
Oh one more thing!!!!! Whew! I am so glad to hear that you weren't hurt in your endeavor for the picture-hanging quest! Yikes! Does your hubby know?
I hope you keep your tosies firmly planted on the ground!
Blessings & Aloha!
Wow!!!Kathie... this is a great post! My favorite is the questions and answers... I love those things! haha
I'll have to do one of these some time....ahhhh...when? I dont know! I really have to starta running list of posts I want, hope, aspire to do...one day!
Thank you dear friend for stopping by and commenting! In my next post, I will definitely show some of the fleur de lis and kitties that I have drawn. Thanks for answering my question :o)
I have been away for so long, I am no longer one of your most frequent commenters :o(
Thanks for being so generous with your awards :o)
Blessings & Aloha!
I absolutely love that apron!! And Muse's Uprising is pretty darn cool. I was making a list of all the songs I've used for Musical Monday and I had to play it twice as I added it to the list. ;-)
Oh, and I love the picture from your wedding! You two are too cute!
I knew commenting incesently would get me somewhere one day:-) Thanks for the shout out!!
What a nice post today. Giving it up for all of your new followers, and giveaway. Then the awards. How sweet are you to talk about me and my Round Robin. That is way too kind. I loved learning about you and your husband. I may have to do this also. Next week. Oh my husband is 30 also. I am three years older. How funny is that. Have a great day..
What a great post! I loved reading all about you and your hubby. And your wedding photo is soooo pretty. :) You found some really cute giveaway finds, too. I hope your knees are better. One of my brothers is afraid of heights - a fact we did not know until the Space Mountain roller coaster at Disney World climbed to the top of its first hill - I think he was maybe 8? And he wanted down. Now. LOL. It's not funny, really, because he was terrified, and stuck. But to think that's where we discovered it...
You don't look older than your hubs, not at all. :)
I don't remember that book and I feel like I missed out, lol
What a beautiful wedding photo!
What a deeply wonderful post. It was awesome of you to share about about yourself and your husband. You're both such lovely people, I'm so happy that you found one another.
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, my sweet friend!
♥ Jessica
Hey, I got my book the other day! Thank you!
And it was so fun to read your Q&A about you and your hubby. It's always a fun way to get to know people.
My hubby is an engineer as well. He uses that to describe his personality which is well, very engineer-like.
Thank you for posting about my giveaway! I really appreciate that. Thank you also for passing the friendly blogger award along to me. You’re so sweet ;)
Falling on your knees hurts! I hope you’re okay. I loved reading more about you and Joshua. I really had no idea that you were older, so it doesn’t show at all! We want 2 kids also and I wouldn’t mind a set of twins either.
I LOVE that song by Muse. Geof has been playing it around the house and now I am really into it.
